The Art Directors Guild announced its nominees Tuesday evening for its annual awards in excellence in production design. The categories include period, fantasy and contemporary film, as well as television, commercials and music video. The awards will be handed out at a black-tie ceremony at the Beverly Hilton on Feb 4.
The nominees for period film are: Laurence Bennett, ‘The Artist’; Dante Ferretti, ‘Hugo’; Maria Djurkovic, ‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy’; Sebastian Krawinkel, ‘Anonymous’; and Mark Ricker, ‘The Help.’
In the fantasy film category, the nominees are Stuart Craig, ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2’; Rick Heinrichs, ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’; John Myhre, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’; Scott Chambliss, ‘Cowboys & Aliens’; and a to-be-named person for ‘The Adventures of Tintin.’ (The name has yet to be determined because the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has not yet designated the official production designers for the film, a spokesperson for the guild said.)
