OK, the flat-soled Chuck Taylor All Star sneaker doesn’t really have much in the way of a heel, but we couldn’t pass up the pun when we found out that the Dickies workwear brand was collaborating with the equally old-school Converse label to use the former’s hard-wearing, twill work pant fabric on the latter’s classic low-top sneaker silhouette.
The collaboration also includes a brand-new high-top style --a moc-toe Chuck Taylor All Star Classic Boot intended to be an homage to Dickies’ workwear heritage.
The high-top will be available in black and khaki twill, and the low-top in black, navy blue, red or khaki, both with the Dickies logo at the heel and lining the inside. The assortment will retail from $50 to $60 and be sold at a variety of bricks-and-mortar stores as well as online through both companies’ websites.
The high-top is expected to roll out to retail in early February, followed by the low-tops later in the month.
