Fashion: Lady Gaga buys a McQueen dress at Daphne Guinness auction

Lady Gaga was among the winning bidders in the Daphne Guinness auction at Christie’s in London on Wednesday, benefitting the Isabella Blow Foundation. She paid a record amount for an Alexander McQueen dress -- $133,075 -- for an empire-style ivory tulle gown from Guinness’ collection, shown here. The auction raised the equivalent of $742,000 -- way more than the $160,00 expected. (Lady G bid by phone, not in person, since she’s in the midst of a tour.) [WWD]

Music star Will.i.am reportedly is teaming with edgy Japanese menswear designer Masaomo Yamaji on a collaborative men’s collection of jackets and blazers to be called Will.i.am X Rynshu (the name of Yamaji’s main line), according to a press release.

Refinery29 named its ’30 under 30’ rising stars in L.A. -- creative, political and otherwise savvy folks to keep an eye on. They included model Atlanta de Cadanet Taylor, jewelry designer Karla Deras, designers Dakota Solt and Lisa Ziven of Crybaby Presents, Daily Beast fashion and art correspondent Isabel Wilkinson, fashion publicist Chase Weideman and photographer Matt Sayles.
