A thinned-out but determined band of Egypt’s anti-government protesters spent the night camped in central Cairo’s chilly Tahrir Square, enveloped in mist rising from the Nile a few blocks away.
Soon after it grew light, shortly before the lifting of the overnight curfew, an Egyptian military helicopter made slow circles above the square.
As if roused from sleep, the protesters resumed their chanting.
