Dodgers cancel ‘Singles Night’ because of a lack of interest

Maybe next time they should try a senior citizens night. Show some happening reruns of the Lawrence Welk Show and have a walkers giveaway.

As it is, swinging singles decided to give the Dodgers a pass. The big yawn and roll of the eyes before they could even be asked, ‘You work out?’

Friday was supposed to be Singles Night at Dodger Stadium, but was cancelled from a lack of interest. As in, they only sold about a dozen tickets and they were all to Barstow truck drivers.

Of course, the real culprit just possibly could have been the lack of planning. The Dodgers announced their Singles Night earlier this month. Like someone in what must be a pretty desperate marketing department these days said, ‘Hey, I know! Let’s try another singles night!’

The $25-reserved tickets were supposed to get you admission to a pregame singles party where a KLOS DJ would spin the music, not to mention a Dodgers cap and a beer.

Seriously, why didn’t this baby take off? Next year get a disco ball.
