Will the ‘Mad Men’ Emmy wins boost its viewership?

In a first for basic cable, ‘Mad Men’ won the Emmy for outstanding drama series on Sunday night, along with awards for art direction, writing, cinematography, hairstyling and title design. (Find the full list of nominees and winners here.) The sting felt by HBO over having passed up ‘Mad Men’ was likely blunted by the fact that its ‘John Adams’ landed 13 awards, the most ever for a miniseries.

The ratings for ‘Mad Men’ have rebounded recently after an early dip; still, that meant an audience of about 2 million. Will the publicity from the Emmys mean a jump in viewers?
