Lakers’ Josh Powell is getting the job done

Josh Powell has never complained. He has never whined. He has never acted out of character.

When his playing time was limited, when he was not playing at all for the Lakers, Powell remained a professional and a gentleman. He worked hard and waited for his opportunity.

Powell, who signed with the Lakers as a free agent last August, is getting that opportunity now, and he is flourishing. A rash of injuries to other players has prompted unexpected playing time for Powell.

And, in his last four games, the reserve power forward has delivered. Powell averaged 16 minutes per game during that span, making 59% of his shots and averaging seven points per game and 3.25 rebounds.
