Heavyweight contenders Samuel Peter and Eddie Chambers will fight at L.A. Live’s Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles on March 27, a main event to ESPN’s ‘Friday Night Fights.’
Peter (30-2, 23 knockouts), 28, surrendered his World Boxing Council heavyweight title last year when he was beaten in the ninth round by Vitali Klitschko. He has defeated James Toney by decision twice.
The 26-year-old Chambers (33-1, 18 KOs) has won three consecutive fights but looked flat in his biggest challenge yet, losing a unanimous decision to Russia’s Alexander Povetkin in January 2008, in Germany.
The undercard will include recent U.S. Olympian Shawn Estrada, who avoided shoulder surgery after a reexamination, and Covina lightweight John Molina (15-0, 11 KOs) -- but in separate fights.
