Bryce Brown, a running back from Wichita, Kan., ended one of the most drawn-out college decision processes for a top recruit in recent memory by announcing that he would attend Tennessee, where he will play for former USC assistant coach Lane Kiffin.

Brown is regarded by many as the top running back prospect in the class of 2009. He has already graduated from high school and has been advised by a man named Brian Butler, who has come under scrutiny from the NCAA.

Brown originally committed to Miami, where his brother plays, but he had also been considering Kansas State, Oregon and Louisiana State.

USC Coach Pete Carroll and his staff were intrigued by Brown’s talent but backed off recruiting him heavily as the weeks passed after national signing day in February.
