Opening night at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale

IRWINDALE -- It was a winning night for the reigning track champions at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale on Saturday night. Nick Joanides of Woodland Hills won the NASCAR Super Late Model season opener. Pat Mintey Jr. of Quartz Hill won the NASCAR Super Trucks race. Joanides won last year’s Super Late Model championship and Mintey is the first two-time Super Truck champion at Irwindale.

The NASCAR Mini Stocks and Outlaw Figure 8s also raced on Saturday night.
