UCLA pro day: Cowan is hopeful, but Olson is out

There figure to be lots of NFL types Tuesday at UCLA’s pro day, but that’s mainly because they’re in town for USC’s pro day Wednesday. Running back Kahlil Bell was the only draft-eligible member of the Bruins invited to last month’s scouting combine.
Quarterback Ben Olson was hoping to work out for scouts, but he recently suffered yet another injury to his foot and now is on crutches. Fellow passer Patrick Cowan has been working with Coach Rick Neuheisel, however, and plans to participate.
All in all, UCLA’s pro day figures to be a low-key one. But, as Neuheisel explains in this video shot today, he’s confident it won’t be such an under-the-radar event in the coming years.
