Defenseman Rob Scuderi, who has been a defensive stalwart for the Kings this season, was injured during the first period of their game at Tampa Bay and is day to day, a team spokesman said.
Scuderi is averaging 18 minutes, 40 seconds’ playing time in the Kings’ first 20 games. He collided with teammate Drew Doughty at one point, though it’s not clear if that’s when he was hurt.
If he’s out any length of time, the Kings do have replacements at hand, since Peter Harrold and Davis Drewiske were each scratched from the lineup.
