Now there’s no doubt that USC will be making more noise than Boston College at the Emerald Bowl on Dec. 26.

Boston College’s athletic department decided that its band would not make the cross-country trip to San Francisco to save money and because the game is the day after Christmas.

BC’s ‘Screaming Eagles’ band was stunned by the news, according to the Boston Globe.

Trombonist Stephen Bohlman told the Globe that BC ‘doesn’t care about the game experience...to not send any sort of ensemble is embarassing to the university, especially when people are willing to go.’

However, USC is sending its marching band to the game. USC is also favored by 8 1/2 points over BC, according to beted.com
