Some post-deadline goodies from Thursday night’s Holiday Bowl at Qualcomm Stadium...

Washington beat Nebraska, 19-7, and more or less beat the Cornhuskers at their own game, pounding them on defense and running the ball down their throat.

The win helped the Huskies exact revenge for a 56-21 beating Nebraska gave them at Husky Stadium on Sept. 18.

Facts:

--Washington running back Chris Polk earned Offensive MVP honors after rushing for 177 yards in 34 carries. He also scored a touchdown.

--Washington linebacker Mason Foster earned Defensive MVP honors.

--Nebraska had only 189 yards on the night, a season low.

--Nebraska gave up 85 rushing yards combined in their previous three bowl games. On Thursday, the Cornhuskers yielded 268.

--Nebraska Coach Bo Pelini lost his first bowl game in four years, whereas Washington Coach Steve Sarkisian has gone from an 0-12 team to a team with a bowl victory in only two seasons.

--This tied a Holiday Bowl record for the fewest total points. The other was the 1991 Holiday Bowl.

--It was the coldest game time temperature (51 degrees) since 1984.
