NBA lockout outlasts Kris Humphries, Kim Kardashian’s wedded bliss

Back in July, Kris Humphries became just another locked-out NBA player. A month or so later, though, he became a reality TV husband.

Now it looks like he’s about to become just another locked-out NBA player again. ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star Kim Kardashian filed for divorce Monday from the New Jersey Nets power forward after a mere 72 days of marriage.

“I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision,” Kardashian said in a statement. “I had hoped this marriage was forever but sometimes things don’t work out as planned.”

OK. Forever probably seemed a bit optimistic to most of us, but 72 days? That’s not even long enough to launch their own spinoff or come out with their own fragrance -- like Khloe and Lamar, who recently celebrated their second anniversary.

Kardashian added that they will “remain friends and wish each other the best.”

The filing in Los Angeles County Superior Court states that a prenuptial agreement will determine how the two will divide up their assets. Kardashian is asking that they pay their own attorneys’ costs and for Humphries’ rights to spousal support to be terminated.

That last part should be no big deal for Humphries. After all, it’s almost November, time for his NBA checks to start rolling in.

Oh, wait a minute ... not this November. The NBA lockout has lasted 123 days and counting -- if you’re keeping score, that’s 51 days longer than the Humphries-Kardashian honeymoon period.
