Foursquare: The TV show?
The popular mobile phone application that allows people to share their location with friends has signed a deal with Endemol USA, a Los Angeles production company, to develop a television series.
No details were disclosed on what the show would look like, just that the Foursquare application would be “meaningfully integrated,” the two companies said in a statement.
Endemol has produced hit shows such as “Deal or No Deal” and “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.”
So it makes you wonder what it can do with Foursquare, which allows people to earn points and unlock badges for traveling around a city. For example, if you ‘check-in’ at a particular restaurant more frequently than any other user, you become the restaurant’s ‘mayor.’
Foursquare says it has nearly 5 million users, who check in with the site more than 1.5 million times each day.
