Cudahy: Man, 20, dies in drive-by shooting

Jose Briseno, a 20-year-old Latino, was shot several times in the 4800 block of Elizabeth Street in Cudahy on Friday, March 27, 2009, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.

Briseno was standing on a sidewalk shortly after 4:40 p.m. when he fired a shot at a minivan as it drove past, according to Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials. Someone in the minivan fired back at Briseno, striking him in the upper torso, officials said.

He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
