Today, starting around 3:15 p.m., we will be live-blogging President Obama’s town hall meeting that will take place at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa. The actual town hall is slated to start at 4 p.m. and is to last for about an hour and 25 minutes, according to the official White House schedule, which has built in time for handshaking along a rope line.
Obama, who strongly defended his Treasury secretary, Timothy F. Geithner, on the White House lawn before leaving for California, is expected to focus on his commitment to fixing the economic mess.
He also used the occasion of his remarks this morning to endorse the anger that seems to be reaching a boiling point toward AIG, the monumentally indebted insurance giant that took government billions and managed to find a nice chunk for retention bonuses for its executives.
