California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has posted a new website to check the amount of federal economic stimulus money the state is to receive.
The website, www.recovery.ca.gov, contains a breakdown of stimulus funds, which include about $50 billion in spending and approximately $35 billion in tax relief.
The governor said it appeared that the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act would inject about $85 billion into the Golden State.
“I am committed to ensuring Californians know exactly how federal economic stimulus funding is coming into and being spent in our state,” Schwarzenegger said in a statement Tuesday. “We will work to ensure each federal economic stimulus dollar is spent effectively and with transparency and accountability.”
