Before you head out for one of the top social nights of the year and that familiar midnight song, take a listen to this evocative and familiar one, now entering its 239th year of moving souls.

‘Amazing Grace’ was written, probably in 1772, by John Newton, a former sea captain/slave trader who had become an Anglican minister in Britain.
