Baseball: South Hills tacks on a run in Division III finals

South Hills’ Michael Martinez launched a missile to center field.

Sherman Oaks Notre Dame Taylor Hill pulled off his best Jim Edmonds impersonation, but the ball ticked off his glove and rolled toward the warning track. Martinez ended up on third base with a triple, then scored on Danny Roddy’s shallow sacrifice fly.

South Hill leads, 2-0, heading into the bottom of the second inning Thursday in the Southern Section-Toyota Division III final at Dodger Stadium.
