The City Section rules committee has recommended that Mike Finegold, the softball and girls’ tennis coach at Venice, be suspended from coaching any athletic team for one year after the school was found to have violated section rules.

The varsity and junior varsity softball teams have to forfeit six games each because of rule violations involving contact with an athlete outside the school attendance area and undue influence.
