Football: Hart transfer sticking with basketball

Hart football Coach Mike Herrington thought he had gained a new receiver in 6-foot-3 Patrick Abbott, a transfer from South Carolina.

But Abbott lasted only one day of football practice and has decided to focus on basketball. He’s a point guard.

‘I’m disappointed,’ Herrington said.

Abbott was a receiver at Hart as a freshman, then moved to South Carolina.
