Football: Esperanza pulls out victory

Jared Moore’s one-yard touchdown run with 6:12 left wiped out a 7-6 deficit and gave 23rd-ranked Esperanza a 12-9 victory over 13th-ranked Corona Santiago.

Moore rushed for 115 yards in 18 carries. Drew Huusfeldt added 93 yards. Santiago’s offense failed to pick up a single first down in the second half in four possessions after leading at halftime, 7-3.
