Fontana Miller took an 12-7 lead with 4:45 left before halftime when quarterback Juan Flores found wide receiver Michael Hunter for a 10-yard touchdown pass. But the Rebels couldn’t convert on the two-point conversion. Flores found Hunter wide open on the near side of the end zone, but the ball dropped out of his hands. It was unfortunate for Miller, considering Flores looked composed under pressure, eluded the defense and rolled out to the near side.

Miller is winning this game right now because of its defensive pressure. The Rebels have forced junior quarterback Tyler Shreve to underthrow passes, finishing three for six for 42 yards in the first half. Shreve has nine rushes for 55 yards, and junior running back AJ Fernandez has 11 carries for 66 yards. Flores has completed five of eight passes for 82 yards, and only Hunter has more than one reception.
