Boys’ basketball: Etiwanda clings to halftime lead over Taft

Neither team has led by more than five points in the first half of a low-scoring thriller between Taft, ranked No. 3 in the Southland by The Times, and No. 10 Etiwanda in the featured game of the Greenway Fairfax State Preview Classic.
Etiwanda leads, 25-24, at intermission behind 10 points from DeRonn Scott. Michael Williams has 10 points for Taft, which has a 13-game winning streak.
Fairfax defeated Etiwanda by two points late last month in the Modesto Christian Holiday Hoops Classic.
