Boys’ basketball: Two good matchups in Fairfax tournament

Tonight’s championship quarterfinals in the Fairfax tournament has two intriguing matchups. It’s Westchester taking on Leuzinger at 7 p.m., with Santa Ana Mater Dei playing Gardena Serra at 8:30 p.m.

Mater Dei routed La Canada Wednesday night, but the Monarchs will be the underdog tonight based on how well Serra played in a 22-point win over North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake.

Westchester might be the top team in the state, but Leuzinger has an improving player in Delon Wright, who gets tested tonight against a group of players who have great pride in their defense.
