Mike Curiel, the linebacker coach at Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, decided last spring he needed to lose weight. He weighed 248 pounds on March 1.
I saw him last Friday night before the Knights’ played Encino Crespi, and he said his weight was 192 pounds. He looked fit, thin and happy.
Good for him. He said a combination of not eating junk food, exercise and wise food choices made the difference. And his example shows his players what can happen with discipline and perseverance.
