Bob Render, prominent assigner of officials, dies

Bob Render, an assigner of high school soccer officials who controlled more than 5,000 games a season and was highly regarded by coaches and athletic directors, died Saturday from a heart-related problem.
Render had worked in that capacity for more than 25 years and was also a soccer and volleyball referee.
