Brea Olinda, the top-ranked girls’ basketball team in the nation, leads Las Vegas Bishop Gorman, 38-12, at halftime at the Nike Extravaganza at Santa Ana Mater Dei.
The Ladycats held the Gaels scoreless until Amber Lane made a 15-foot jumper with just over three minutes remaining in the first quarter.
Justine Hartman has 15 points and six rebounds for Brea Olinda (21-0), which has outrebounded Bishop Gorman, 25-9.
Right about now, the fans in the stands must be wishing Brea Olinda Coach Jeff Sink and Mater Dei Coach Kevin Kiernan had agreed to have their teams play each other.
