East Valley has advanced to the semifinals of the City Section small schools’ boys’ tournament after a 59-55 victory over Sherman Oaks CES.
Sherman Oaks hadn’t lost a home game in three years and defeated East Valley, 71-35, on Feb. 11.
Leading the way was senior Eddy Escobar, who scored 23 points, including 19 in the second half. Senior Andrew Faigenblat made three three-pointers to keep his team in the game in the first half.
East Valley will play View Park Prep on Thursday at View Park. The other small schools semifinal has LACES playing Huntington Park College Ready.
