Boys’ basketball: Oaks Christian wins 4A title

Westlake Village Oaks Christian led from start to finish, beating Sherman Oaks Buckley 66-48 for the Southern Section Division 4A championship in the first of six games today at the Anaheim Convention Center.
Blair Holliday finished with 26 points, five assists and five steals and Chass Bryan added 14 points and three assists for the top-seeded Lions (24-7), who led 32-11 at halftime.
Tyler Coppin Carter had 22 points and eight rebounds and Larry Bush added nine points for the sixth-seeded Griffins (22-7), who pulled to within 43-27 after three quarters.
Dillion van der Wal had 11 points, 11 rebounds and 14 rebounds for Oaks Christian, which shot 45.1% to Buckley’s 29.4% and out-rebounded the Griffins, 37-30.
