Dave White, the veteran coach for Huntington Beach Edison, plans to spend Thursday night at home watching the NFL opener on TV while his Chargers play Garfield at Huntington Beach.

White is serving a one-game suspension for an alleged pre-enrollment contact involving Mater Dei transfer Sedric Hill.

‘I don’t think I did anything wrong,’ White said, but he added he will follow the mandate from his administration to sit out the game.

Assistant coach Rick Justice will handle the head coaching duties, but even more important, quarterback coach Dave Grace will be calling the plays, something White handles during games.
