Jamie Sutcliffe had missed on three field goals earlier in the game, but he made a 40-yard field goal as time expired to give Thousand Oaks a 27-24 victory over Moorpark in a Marmonte League opener.

The Lancers pulled off the victory by intercepting Moorpark quarterback Grant Rohach three times. Blake Howell returned one of the interceptions 67 yards for a touchdown to tie the game in the fourth quarter.

‘I don’t know if we played great; we played hard,’ Thousand Oaks Coach Mike Leibin said.
