It was a perfect opening drive for South East.

Garfield’s kickoff went backward out of bounds. On the first play from scrimmage, South East’s Robert Lewis, wearing No. 14 to honor sidelined teammate Gerardo Leos, ran 36 yards for a touchdown. Leos is sitting out indefinitely after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

South East’s bid to end its six-year hex against the Bulldogs is off to a good start.
