Boys’ basketball: L.A. Windward reaches Torrey Pines final

What a tournament L.A. Windward (8-4) is having in San Diego. The Wildcats advanced to the championship game of the Torry Pines tournament National Division with a 71-59 victory over Woodland Hills Taft.
Windward has now beaten this season the defending state champions in Division II (Archbishop Mitty) and Division III (La Verne Lutheran) and the City Section Division I champion (Taft).
Windward was led by Nick Stover, who scored 30 points. Windward will face Dematha in the championship game.
Chatsworth Sierra Canyon advanced to the final in the Mayors Division after a 61-47 win over Santa Margarita. Jahmel Taylor scored 31 points.
