Boys’ basketball: Marqueze Coleman leads Alemany to title

Tournament MVP Marqueze Coleman contributed 36 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and blocked four shots to lead Mission Hills Alemany past Bakersfield, 77-67, in the championship game of the Modesto Christian tournament.
Coleman made 16 of 18 free throws. Alemany (11-2) also got 19 points from all-tournament selection Max Guercy. Bear Henderson had 17 points and 12 rebounds.
The Warriors open Mission League play on Wednesday against Chaminade.
Sherman Oaks Notre Dame defeated San Diego University, 72-49. Kennedy Edwards and Ryan Ducar had 14 points apiece.
