The fun and games are over for Brentwood (12-2, 1-0), which has started well under first-year Coach Ryan Bailey but finally gets tested in a big way on Friday with an Alpha League road game against Los Angeles Windward (12-5, 1-0).

This is the first of several Alpha League showdowns coming in January involving Brentwood, Windward and Pacific Hills.

Sophomore point guard Tra Holder and junior forward Leland King of Brentwood will face strong competition from Windward’s guard duo of Charles Dawson, Jordan Wilson and Nicholas Stover.

Windward is certainly the favorite, but Bailey has been scouting the Wildcats and it will be interesting to see what kind of strategy is deployed in a bid to pull off the upset.

The Mission League resumes play on Friday, with Chaminade at Crespi and Loyola facing Harvard-Westlake at Cal State Los Angeles.
