Quarterback Johnny Stanton of Santa Margarita played pretty well in 2011, passing for 2,439 yards and 13 touchdowns while rushing for 1,428 yards and 21 touchdowns.
He enters 2012 about the same height, 6 feet 2, and the same weight, 220 pounds. But a big difference is he got stronger in the weight room, and that’s going to make him even more dangerous when he runs.
‘I did get a little banged up last year, but I think with a little extra muscle on me, it will help me stay healthier,’ he said.
Stanton, who committed to Nebraska during the summer, talks in the video (above) about the challenge Santa Margarita faces trying to repeat as Pac-5 champions and what he likes about the Cornhuskers.
Stanton will be featured on Monday night when Time Warner Cable presents its prep football preview show at 7:30 p.m. on Channel 101.
