Agents of the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service in Los Angeles arrested four Pakistanis and one Indian national at John Wayne Airport after they apparently tried to enter the country illegally, the INS announced Tuesday.
Joe Flanders, of the agency, said the five men were arrested Monday evening as they got out of a small plane they had chartered in San Diego.
He indicated that the men, who were not identified, had traveled to San Diego from Mexico but would give no other details about the case. He said the men, who were not carrying contraband, could leave the country voluntarily or request a hearing before a deportation official.
