Worker Found Dead Inside Photo Plant
An employee of a small Huntington Beach film processing company was found dead inside the plant minutes after business opened Saturday morning, and a Huntington Beach police spokesman said the death is being investigated as a homicide.
Lt. Bruce Young said a co-worker arriving for work about 9 a.m. found the victim, a man in his 40s, lying on the floor at Personal Photo, 15182 Bolsa Chica St.
A cash drawer with an undetermined amount of money was reported missing, Young said, but police would not say whether the man was killed during a robbery. “We don’t know what we have yet,” Young said. Police said the co-worker, whom they would not name, told them he saw blood coming from a head wound.
The victim’s name was also withheld, pending notification of his family.
Police cordoned off an area immediately in front of the company’s offices, which are part of a large industrial complex. They were questioning other employees as they arrived for work Saturday morning.
One employee said the staff was to show up early Saturday for a meeting about the business, which he said opened just three months ago and had about six workers.
Young said police have no suspects.
