U.S. auto makers’ assembly plans were reported.
Ward’s Automotive reports said the assembly of 176,282 cars is planned in U.S. factories this week. That compares with 154,339 built last week--when two General Motors Corp. plants were on strike and others had weather-related parts problems--and 167,044 built in the comparable week a year ago. U.S. truck schedules came to 72,232 for the week compared with 59,248 built last week and 61,408 in the year-ago period.
