Eastern Airlines will start labor talks again today.
The Miami-based airline, already in technical default on some of its $2.5 billion in loans, will try to win wage and other cost-cutting concessions from the machinists union. Eastern missed a midnight Thursday deadline to reach agreement with the union on a financial plan to satisfy lender banks, putting the airline into technical default. The talks were recessed for the weekend.
