Financial Woes Close Central City Hospital
Financially troubled Central City Hospital, a mental health facility near downtown Los Angeles, announced that it was shutting down as of Friday.
Executive Director Bill Harmon said the hospital’s 32 patients would be moved to other facilities.
Harmon said that hospital trustee Max Rush had decided that in light of the facility’s financial state, “it was best to close” the center, located at 4211 Avalon Blvd. Rush could not be reached for comment at his office.
