Cal Beats Fullerton to Avoid Series Sweep
Jeff Weiss was 2 for 4 with a home run and 4 RBIs and catcher Mike Knapp was 3 for 5 with 3 RBIs Sunday as the University of California defeated Cal State Fullerton, 12-3, in a nonconference game on Evans Diamond at Berkeley.
Will Schock won his third game without a loss as the Bears (14-6) salvaged one win in a three-game series against the Titans (8-8). Schock went the distance, allowing nine hits and two earned runs. He struck out four and walked four.
Fullerton was led by John Fishel, who went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI.
