Community College Baseball : Bowcutt’s 3-Run Home Run Leads Cypress Victory, 11-9
Bob Bowcutt’s pinch-hit, three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning Saturday gave Cypress College an 11-9 nonconference win over San Bernardino at the Chargers’ field. Jim Jackle added two hits, including a home run and a double, and four RBIs, and Jim Patterson had two hits for Cypress, which improves to 6-2.

Golden West 20, Rio Hondo 2--The host Rustlers scored 10 runs in the fourth inning of a game that was called after six innings. Tom Kilpatrick pitched a three-hitter over five innings to earn the victory.
Shawn Gilbert went 4 for 5 with 3 RBIs, Keith Kaub went 3 for 5 with 5 RBIs, and Todd Nash had 2 hits, including a 2-run homer in the fifth inning, and scored 4 times. Nash has hit four home runs in six games for the Rustlers, who improve to 5-0-1.
