Local News in Brief : Police Identify Victim of Fatal Crash on Foothill Freeway

A20-year-old man who was killed when his pickup truck slammed into the rear end of a semitrailer truck on the Foothill Freeway was identified Sunday as Christopher Black.
Black, of La Crescenta, was traveling at an estimated 75 m.p.h. Saturday night when his vehicle hit the semitrailer truck, which was traveling about 35 m.p.h., a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
A passenger in Black’s car, Arlene Lenarth, 20, of La Crescenta, was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills. She was listed in serious condition Sunday.
The crash occurred on the westbound lanes of the freeway, just west of Lowell Avenue. There were no other injuries.
