NISSEQUOGUE, N.Y. — A $15,000 thoroughbred racehorse, missing since early last month, was discovered drowned in the backyard pool of a Long Island estate, police said today.
Police said the 5-year-old gelding, Not So Nice, had escaped from a corral at the Nissequogue Farms on Feb. 8 and was discovered late Monday by a caretaker. Police believe that the horse ran out of nearby woods, ran over the pool cover and fell in on the day he escaped.
