The Assembly Public Safety Committee delayed until next week a vote on controversial legislation that would enable victims of accused child molesters to testify in court via closed-circuit television. The Senate-passed bill by Sen. Art Torres (D-Los Angeles) was amended in the committee and will be up for a vote in its new form. Supporters of the measure hope that if it becomes law, it could be applied in legal proceedings of the McMartin Pre-School child molestation case in Los Angeles.
