Gas Truck, Bus Collide; 27 Killed

GUADALAJARA, Mexico — A tanker truck carrying thousands of gallons of liquid petroleum gas collided head-on with a bus en route to the resort of Puerto Vallarta today, killing 27 people and injuring at least 30 more, the Red Cross said.
Irene Macias, a Red Cross spokeswoman, said 24 people were killed instantly and three more died en route to hospitals. The accident took place near the town of Tequila, 35 miles west of Guadalajara, Mexico’s second-largest city.
